We've Moved!

So---
We moved!
We have been so eager to let you all know; somehow, 2-1/2 weeks have flown by, and I'm only now updating you with some pictures.

We passed our Building Inspection on December 16, and
moved in on the Saturday before Christmas.

Our family and friends were invaluable moving help.  We took the furniture apart the night before (and ran out to cut a huge Christmas tree), and were able to move with one load, utilizing 8 vehicles.  We finished unloading about 11:00 a.m. and got busy unpacking.  (We had a tree to decorate after all..)
(Who moves their Christmas tree?!?)

The Loft getting some furniture.  Notice that the kids hung Christmas lights on the stairs before we moved in!

The stove and refrigerator being hooked up.

A view of the hills from down the road.

The first day in the new house---
after Mass-- a long nap, and tree-decorating.

How he missed our scaffolding for putting the star on top!  It's 14' tall.

Day Two in the new house:
20 dozen cookies to try out the Convection Oven : )

(Baking cookies a wonderful way to unpack.  Picture this, "I need measuring cups.  Somebody find some.  Now, look for some shortening.  Where's the salt?..."

The Dining Room.

Kitchen and Loft.   (See the extra Christmas tree up over the stairs?)

The Library.

The new Kitchen (with a crazy amount of counter space.)

The School Room.

The kiddos set up our Nativity scene and hung the stockings the week before we moved.  A secret "Santa" filled their stockings for them, much to their great delight.  We still truly don't know his identity, but if he's reading, we want him to know we're grateful for their gifts.  (And we said a prayer for him.)

The Bath.

The Bathroom and Kitchen still need cabinets; they're in progress.

Ahhh, my Laundry Room!  This was one of our first rooms to put in order.  It's currently serving as our laundry/mud room/pantry/bathroom storage, and we're loving it.

Our Bedroom.

The Nursery off of our room.

The "California Closet" that my dear husband added last week while I was out-of-town!

The Boys' Room.

The Girls' Room (in the Loft.)

And--- the new Clothesline!  Before you laugh...we are a family of eight without a dryer, so hanging laundry is a daily necessity and I am tickled pink with the new-found huge amount of hanging space!  Before, I had only small racks (see below) for indoors. Laundry hasn't been this fun in a long time: )

The Play Area set up in the basement is working very well, especially as the temps have just dropped to 25 below zero, and the kiddos are staying in for now.

We're so thankful to be here, but the building isn't over.  We have to keep working at a steady pace to finish building cabinets, staining and installing trim and doors for a while yet.
